Teaching private music lessons for fifteen years and counting gives a perspective only achieved through long hours of instruction and personal discovery. My lesson business speaks for itself. I don’t need advertising to fill my schedule with 30 students in two weeks time. Positive word of mouth reviews of my services has built my lesson business. I have college level classical piano and percussion courses completed as well as tens of thousands of hours practiced on piano, drums, guitar and bass. I began writing original music in second grade on piano, performing my first two compositions “Wild Wind” and “Funky Chili” at a school talent show. By fifth grade I had a 700 person audience listen to me playing drums in a post modern rock band. I’ve performed live on drums for punk bands, jazz ensembles and combo’s, 60’s soul, progressive rock, experimental jazz and a host of other fun projects. My original music has topped the charts seven different times, including two #1’s on the ITunes jazz charts and an Amazon Best Seller on the American jazz charts. I’ve been on Billboard multiple times, including top 25 twice. My original music is released under SS Global Ent.- Worldwide Music Group- Indimore Records and my home grown label- Andrew Downing Music. I’ve collaborated with some incredible musicians over the years and I bring all that collective wisdom to my music lessons and original music creation. I continue to grow as a music engineer and my studio recording techniques provide competitive audio files at affordable rates.
